When it comes to singing, our voice is the main source of everything. A voice can be enhance by doing vocal exercises and maybe enrolling to a music school if you had budget for that. I knew that singing can be taught but good hearing for music can't be. Talented musicians have the ability to heard themselves if they we're playing wrong way but those musician with lack of experience and naturally born with good hearing talent is a plus. But how does our ears needed when it comes to singing.

Singing is not just about making melody. When a singer didn't know they we're off beat and out of tune, even when you are most talented singer  in the world, this make no sense. You need to be heard and it's good if you we're the first one to know that. Our ears also manage the way our body response to a given song. Developing a good habit of hearing your own mistakes matters most. In my experience, those recorded covers that i had in my phone, I've got a chance to see my imperfections and next time i sang it i know how to correct those wrongs. It doesn't matter how many fault you've made but teaching yourself to have an optimistic outlook rather than keeping on reminding yourself that you've messed that song before.

Listen carefully in every details of the song, the way she/he breath and perfect pitch. If you are serious to be a singer, understand that singing was not just all about sing the song then it's done. A true singer decipher every part of the song. In that way you are being familiar to the instruments, how many bar counts before starting and the flow of the whole song goes along the way. This is good if you are a band singer. Singing in a group must have a good ear in everything. It will help you and your members to evaluate songs and have a better sounding plus less time to study new songs. This is a big advantage to a band member if their singer has a better ear when it comes to music. You can produce quality sounds but if the singer can't hit the right tempo and pitch, that would be a big disaster.

Obviously, a good ear also knew how to discover what genre suits his/her voice. Not all kind of songs are fit in your vocal register. This may be help singers that was lost in so many shadows of other's singers. It is important that when you starting to know what your genre is, remember do not copy anyone's style. You are the first person to hear you singing so better correct yourself before other corrects you. Our voice will determine which is better to fit for your voice. A genre is not a limitation but it is a good guide in starting your journey as a singer. Some may brave enough to challenge themselves to sing out of their genre and that's alright. It's their choice but for me a good singer knows how to heard a good music, a good singer and a good musician.

In conclusion, for my personal experience i was able to distunguished my own flaws when i learned how to play guitar. A musical instruments will make your ear to be more sensitive when someone plays a wrong key and a wrong tempo and this was with me up today. When i watched singing competition on television, i listen carefully and learning as well to every contestants. Sometimes i acted like i was one of the judges lol! Kidding aside, my predictions who will win sometimes really happens and in that way, i know i'm still on the right track. So i guess that it will be helpful for you out there missing an important part of singing. Not just your voice but as well with your ears.
