Hi everyone! Today I tried to make a classic bread that's been part of my childhood days. I remember this kind if bread we called it "Boleng". It has a round shape with soft and buttery texture. The top of this bread is toasted golden brown because of the butter that spread on top after removing it from the oven.

So today, my cravings push me to make my own version of this bread, I'm going to try this for the first time. My ingredients are just the common bread recipe; flour, yeast, water and salt with some vegetable shortening or oil might work too!

1.I test the yeast if it can still be used. I drop 2 tsp of yeast together with some lukewarm water and 2 tsp of sugar. Then I mixed till well combine. I set aside it for 5 minutes until I see the yeast bloomed.

2.While I'm waiting for the yeast to activate, I proceed to combine the dry ingredients.I measure 2 ½ cups of All Purpose Flour, salt and some sugar and atleast ¼ cup of vegetable shortening then give it a mix.

3.Now that my yeast is ready, I poured the wet ingredients to the dry. Then using a spoon I combine these until all the wet ingredients absorb it.

Now it's ready for kneading using my hand. I'd like to try kneading using an electric mixer with a hook but since I am just learning how to knead correctly using hand.

4.I knead the dough for about 12-15 minutes until I achieve an elastic dough and rest the dough for 1 hour or until it doubled in size. After an hour I checked the dough and I punched out the excess air inside the dough.

5.I knead the dough again just to release left air and started to cut the dough and mold it to form a ball. Then I place the dough into greased muffin molder and let it take it final proofing for 1 to 2 hours.

6.I pre-heated my electric oven toaster (turning the heat both up and down) and place 6 muffin molder. I set the timer for only 5 minutes since this toaster has no temperature controller.

What I just missed here, I don't achive a golden toasted brown (top) just a little bit brown but the bread still cooked even if I don't achive more vibrant top.

7.After all the bread was baked, I immediately grease the top of the bread with butter (while it's still warm) and I decided to put some of my home made Confectioner sugar on top that makes the bonet bread looks different.

However the taste was really good and I really love how the bread soft texture inside was there. I remember we used to put some spreads like peanut butter, coconut jam, mayonnaise and cheese. I think breads will always have a special part in my heart. Though I'm busy doing arts nowadays, I'd still wanted to baked again and soon in my upcoming birthday (almost a week from now).

Thanks for hanging around and I hope you could try this one. Cheap bread but still with great taste awaits your taste buds!

Gracias ♥️
