HOW TO MEMORIZE LYRICS/CHORDS FASTER

1. SING WITH THE MUSIC TOGETHER
FOR THE LYRICS
Get your lyrics ahead of time. You need to know the songs melody, how the lyrics flows with it and start to memorize it. Choose whatever your most comfortable copy you have (Hard or Soft copy). While the music play, you can sing with it many times you want. The good thing about it, you will notice that repeating the music along side that you are actually singing it, the lyrics itself is now easy to be memorize and remember. I tried before to memorize some songs without playing the song itself. I felt so bored and helpless. For some reason my mind can't no longer remember the lyrics. Then i decided to sing it while i am holding my own lyric copy. Surprisingly it really works! Without noticing that i hit two target at the same time (the right melody and the lyric).Image Source: Google |
FOR THE CHORDS
This can be done like i said above. I usually pick the chords ahead of time, study it for a while and play it several times while the music plays along with me. This will surely helps if you are a beginner. I study 1 song first then i remember that my hands got callouses eventually, but i didn't regret it. I was able to train myself with only one song and the strumming and memorizing the chords went well. This may takes more time rather than memorizing the lyrics. More or less 3 days for beginner but an hour maybe for me now lol! Kidding aside, i am not a professional one hence this tips that i shared was based on my personal experience.
2. TAKE A SHORT BREAK

3. WRITE IT ON A SHEET OF PAPER AS EXAM
This is optional, but i knew that writing will help you to exercise you memorization. Write all that you remember with that certain song and you will notice what you did not remember.
