Anointing with Oil | My Experince
Yesterday i attended church service (JIL Loma De Gato) and that service called "Anointing With Oil". A brief history in the book of Exodus when Moses has been chosen by God to lead the Israelite's out of Egypt. The Israelite's has been slaves for 400 years since Joseph (the dreamer the son of Jacob) used by God to save his descendants from famine around the nearby country.
As God promises that Abraham's descendants is the chosen one from Abraham's only son Isaac and then to Isaac's son Jacob. In the Old Testament anointing with oil is a part of tradition for someone who will receive a blessing from his Father. In Exodus, Moses did this too to appoint Aaron as the Priest and the Levites as well. They we're consecrated by Moses an oil and that is a holy tradition commanded by God. I wonder what kind of oil they uses in that time as the bible tells it was made out of good perfume alone. These are very expensive ingredients like myrrh, sweet smelling cinnamon, cassia, aromatic cane and olive oil and according by God's command for exact quantity for each items. (Exodus 30: 23-25)
The Pastor teaches a topic about how Jesus is the very first Man to seek water baptism that included also the Holy Spirit came down as dove. He set the example of having baptized and anointed by God the Father, He is God the Son and together with the Holy Spirit.
From the beginning this tradition was ordered by God to do it for a lifetime. Anointing means being appointed or chosen by God. The church that i attended makes a way for the whole congregation to receive that Anointing with Oil. This moment was very holy and sacred and i felt that God is so near.
The leaders of the church was the first to part take the anointing with oil and i remember how Moses did in Aaron and the Levites. My heart is overwhelmed with gladness and peace. As i watched the whole body of Christ singing and praying together, it really invites the Holy Spirit to minister each of everyone and receive God's blessing in any form.
I do believe that God's work in mysterious ways. Our mind can't explain it because our thoughts are far beyond God's thoughts. As a believer of Christ, i am glad to say that this moment will be one of my first extra ordinary experience this year.
