Hello everyone! I am back again for another Filipino recipe which I will make for my first try. Maja Blanca is a native food here in the Philippines and can be seen almost through out the entire provinces. This food serves as merienda / snack or I can say a comfort food I guess. It's texture was creamy, soft like pudding with some corn bits.

Maja Blanca was always present for some family gartherings and special occasions such as Christmas and New Year's Eve. We haven't tried to cooked Maja Blanca before so I don't have any experience how can I cook it properly. The ingredients of maja blanca can be found even at the super market of just a store nearby to you like what we have here. You must have a cornstach for you to achieve the thickness of Maja Blanca.

Preparation and Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Assembling: 20 minutes
Yield: 18-20 using ½ cup for measurement

Ingredients:

2-3 cups cornstarch
9 cups of water
1 can corn kernel (including the water inside)

1 can evaporated milk (big)
1 can Cremdensada (2 in 1 All Purpose Cream and Condensed Milk Big)
2 cups washed sugar
Grated Cheese for toppings
Vanilla extract (optional)

Procedure:

1.Dilute the cornstarch with 1 cup of water.  Stir totally dissolve and set aside. (9 cup less 1 cup water = 8 cups remaining)

2.On a medium heat place a thick casserole or a teflon type then pour and combine evaporated milk, cremdensada and corn kernels, sugar and water.

3.Let it boil for a while then gently pour the cornstarch mixture. Stirring consistent is required up to this stage, you must low your fire to prevent it for burning and let it slowly to cook and start to become thick.

4.It takes few minutes to make the mixture thick. You might feel and conscious how long will it take but just be patient.

5.You will see result when you feel some bit or few thickness are forming in your ladle when you scrape the bottom.

6.Continue to stir it till the mixture get heavy and it can hold shape. Do not stop on stirring until your ladle can hold the Maja Blanca mixture and won't fall.

7.Immediately transfer the Maja Blanca on desire vessel or container. If you will serve it on occasions, place it on a clear and thick glass.

8.If your gonna sell this, transfer it faster on your food packaging. The more it was expose to the air the more it will become thicker and your will have a hard times to divide them equally my measuring cups.

9.Scoop ½ cup for every styro foam and spread evenly. Get some cheese grated to be your toppings. You can use toasted coconut shred.

10.You can cut in big chunks or serve it individually using styro foam to sell. You can refrigerate it or just eat this under room temperature. Best with coffee on the side.

Hope you can try this if you haven't tasted this treat. I love how creamy it was and the corn kernels really combine with the cheese toppings. Not to sweet but creamy!
